Silica-Gem Co. Ltd.
Who we are:
Silica-Gem Co. Ltd. was established in 1995 by Geologist Vejdi Ziyansiz. His engineering background and love of geology led to innovative designs in lapidary machinery.
Silica-Gem (also known as the Turkish Pavilion) specializes in rare and beautiful Turkish crystals and minerals as well as rough and polished shapes produced in Vejdi's own fair-trade workshops which employ close to 150 female lapidary artists.
Vejdi Ziyansiz has created over 20 complete large-scale lapidary workshops in Turkey as well as one at the University of Lima in Peru with more to come. In addition, he's created smaller workshops for hobbyists across Turkey and Europe. Represented by German company Aquarius (Pappenheim - Germany), Silica-Gem lapidary equipment is synonymous with quality and fine craftsmanship. All of Silica-Gem's machinery carries a CE Mark (Certificate of Europe).
The Gem Shop, Inc.
Who we are:
Since its establishment in 1971, The Gem Shop, Inc. has been "dedicated to revealing the beauty of the mineral world." The Gem Shop is a true lapidary dealing with everything from the mining of fine agates and jaspers to the cutting of unique designer cabochons.
Our lapidary department is well-known for expert craftsmanship and design. Many custom jewelers appreciate the quality of our designer cabochons, which are hand-cut and polished in the German cutting tradition with a mirror-like finish.
Our home office and retail shop are located in Cedarburg, Wisconsin's famous downtown historic district, about 20 miles north of Milwaukee. We welcome your personal visit to our shop. Our rock yard and basement are filled with over 80 tons of different types of rock for every lapidary need. We are also a dealer for several lapidary equipment manufacturers (Lortone and Diamond Pacific) and usually have used equipment for sale.
